JD Fisher

Position: Battalion Chief: C Shift

JD Fisher has served with Porter Fire Department since 2012, and in May 2025, was promoted to the C-Shift Battalion Chief.  Over the course of his career, he has advanced through the ranks of Firefighter, Engine Operator, Lieutenant, and Captain, most recently serving on B-Shift before assuming his current leadership role.

Before joining the fire service, Chief Fisher completed 8 years active duty in the United States Army, serving as a Paratrooper in the  82nd Airborne Division, 4th Brigade Combat Team in Fort Bragg, NC. During which time, deploying to Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom VII & VIII. Then going on to serve as a Drill Sergeant in the 192nd Infantry Training Brigade, Fort Benning, GA.

Battalion Chief Fisher brings the same leadership, discipline, and commitment to excellence that defined his military service into his role at Porter Fire Department.

Outside of duty, he is a devoted husband to his wife, and proud father of four daughters and one son.
